These devices were:
- The canon cameras microphone that has a built in microphone
- The Sony voice recorder device
- My iPhone voice recorder
Here is evidence of me recording all these sounds using the devices mentioned above:
One advantage of using the camera when recording the sound is it was easy to hear the audio and place the equipment near the sound being made. However, considering the camera is mainly used for photography or recording videos, I believe it is not the best option when only wanting to record audio for sound. One disadvantage I found with using the camera is having to multitask. This is because the camera is too big and having to press record on the camera and the microphone at the same time was difficult and challenging.
One advantage of using the Sony voice record is it had the best quality of audio out of all three devices. It was loud, clear and understandable. In my opinion was the best to use when recording sound. However, one disadvantage of using the Sony voice recorder is having to multitask. This is because the camera is too big and having to press record on the camera and the microphone at the same time was difficult and challenging.
One advantage using my iPhone recorder is it is easy to export it onto the iMacs as all I will have to do is airdrop it and download it like that. It is also easy to manage and control the recordings. One disadvantage of using the iPhone recorder is it is not as clear as the Sony voice recorder. It is less vibrant and loud as well as not a professional way to record for content.
